Standardized Testing

In accordance with the Arizona Public Schools Accountability Act, the Arizona Department of Education has implemented standardized tests to ensure compliance with curriculum guidelines and measure academic progress in Arizona public schools.

Arizona Progress Reporting (APR) takes into account a school's state Academic Performance Index (API) in addition to federal measures of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and Program Involvement (PI). Together, these reports help ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a statewide accountability system mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 which requires each state to ensure that all schools and districts make Adequate Yearly Progress
